In the past few years ’women’s empowerment has gained growing visibility as a development issue, especially in the global economic challenges, women empowerment rises as a global solution, considering gender balance as a path for women's empowerment to achieve sustainable development, as a source of inspiration and support that connects and empowers women.

 

The conference will highlight the unlimited support Emirati women, receive from UAE leadership, which contributed to its arrival to the prestigious global position that it is now pursuing, and its distinguished achievements in various fields of national work at the local, regional, and global levels, will address the Emirati women's empowerment and entrepreneurship strategy within the framework of UAE Vision 2021-2071, Emirati Women and Investment, and Their Role in Sustainable Development. Focusing on the challenges and social phenomena and the role of women in establishing the values that contribute to the national identity, the mental and physical health of women,  and their role in building the balanced personality of women “get society on board”, UAE as a leading country in gender balance in the region "understanding barriers”, the conference will also include honouring for several leading figures in the social and humanitarian work with remarkable participation in the country.

 

The agenda will also highlight gender balance and Family cohesion as the main instrument in addressing the Visions & Reality, showing also (How) the roles of every sector (community, government, business sector).

  • Empowering women is among UAE priorities.

  • In 2015. 30 % of UAE's governmental decision-making positions were held by women, the highest in the Arab world.

  • Women occupy some of the highest leadership ranks in the nation. The UAE has had a 58% increase in female entrepreneurs...in just 4 years.

  • the nation currently has around 20,000 female entrepreneurs, marking a 58% increase since 2012.

  • Emirati women have started all kinds of businesses, from online stores to large-scale companies.

  • The UAE was the first in the region to make female representation in all governmental boards mandatory.

  • Illiteracy among Emirati women dropped by a whopping 82.5% since 1970 the rate was at 89.8 in 1970, compared with the 7.3% recorded last year.
